With experience both writing and editing copy for a wide range of projects, my expertise can ensure your project is written perfectly for the occasion. I can write from scratch, to your specifications, edit AI-written placeholder copy, or simply check that your written copy is clear, effective, and grammatically correct.

Writing

With over eight years of experience writing copy for various businesses, organisations, and charities, I can write for a variety of audiences and purposes to fit yuour individual needs, including mimicking existing house style.

The majority of my experience includes:

• Social media posts
• Promoting events and fundraising opportunities
• Advertising products and services
• Newsletter articles and blog posts

I also write poetry, and short-form fiction.

Editing

As a new member of the CIEP and EFA, I am expanding my editing repertoire. My primary focus is copyediting and proofreading, but any opportuinities for the developmental aspects are very exciting to me.

My most recent editing experience includes:

• Website proofreading
• Copyediting newsletters and flyers
• Producing event programmes, ensuring all information is accurate (such as names)
• Training slides, ensuring they make sense and there are no mistakes such as accidental duplication

I have expeirence editing AI-written placeholder copy – sometimes re-writing it, and sometimes simply checking it makes sense to human eyes. Artificial Intelligence can be a contentious topic. While I do not use generative AI myself, I appreciate that it can act as a useful starting point for many.

Sensitivity and Accuracy Reading

With over a decade of experience writing about equality, diversity, and inclusion, (with particular focus on disability justice, queer and trans cultures, and mental wellbeing,) I can provide valuable input for any project, especially those requiring sensitivity, kindness, and what can often feel like insider-knowledge. Let me be your insider!

This can take many forms, from brainstorming sessions, to sensitivity reading, to seminars, and will be tailored to each individual project and client. This service is sometimes used in conjunction with copyediting, or can act as stand-alone advice.

Further, I have an Master of Research meaning I have the skills to be a second set of eyes to ensure that the copy is accurate and true, as well as beautifully written.

My prices are based on industry recommended rates, and vary by project based on scope, timescale, and starting point. I do offer solidarity rates for certain projects, please get in touch for more information.
